Aide/Experienced Aide/CNA
Activities as authorized by Missouri Medicaid Division of Senior and Disability Services may include planning, preparation and clean-up of meals; making beds and changing sheets with the participant in or out of the bed; brushing, combing and shampooing hair; bathing/showering, including bed baths; brushing teeth and cleaning dentures; cleaning and cutting fingernails and toenails of participants without contraindicating conditions; shaving with an electric or safety razor; giving assistance to and from the bed to a wheelchair, walker or chair when a participant is weight bearing; assisting the participant with ordinarily self-administered medications (open bottles, get water); shopping for groceries or household items specifically required for the health and maintenance of the participant; applying non-prescription topical ointments/lotions to unbroken skin at the participant’s direction; tidying and dusting the home; cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards, and appliances, including oven, surface burners, and inside refrigerator; cleaning bathroom fixtures; laundering clothes and linens; making beds and changing sheets; ironing and mending clothes; washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils; washing inside windows and cleaning blinds that are within reach without climbing; sweeping and/or vacuuming, and mopping floors; bagging trash inside the home and putting it out for pick-up; shopping for essential items; performing essential errands; reading and writing essential correspondence for participants that are unable to do so, due to blindness, illiteracy, or physical impairments; advanced personal care with special training; respite; advanced respite with special training; if authorized, chore services which may include washing wall and woodwork; cleaning closets, basements, attics; shampooing rugs; airing mattresses/bedding; spraying for insects; providing rodent control.
LPN/RN
Activities as authorized by Missouri Medicaid Division of Senior and Disability Services may include filling insulin syringes; setting up oral medications; monitoring a participant’s skin condition; conducting health evaluations; providing nail care; making a monthly on-site visit to each participant for whom advanced personal care services are authorized; providing on-the-job training and competency testing for advanced personal care aides; healthy youth and children services with special instructions/training; reassessments with special training.
